Oh screw it.  I don't feel like dropping the subtle hints.

At around 1:45 - 2ish am last night, Pete asked me to marry him.

I said yes.

....OOOOOMIIIIIGOOOOOOD!

Oh my GOD!

Something to play when I'm not playing Maple Story.  It's not very intuitive and I don't know how long it'll hold my attention but I'm hooked so far and the music is pretty catchy.  I don't even like rap/hip-hop.

FYI The site only works in IE.

(at this point...somewhere in Newark, a computer nerd is making an unamused face  :P)

Maybe I should have tried my luck at writing screenplays.  I'm starting to find out that some of the lines I've said to Pete to describe my own feelings have been used as climatic lines in mushy romantic chick flicks...  *totally not a poser I swear*

Oh hey!  Script Frenzy finally got some content! To participate or not to participate....hmmmm.

And I'm drifting back into Maple Story again.

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more religious than atheist, more loner than dependent, more lazy than workaholic, more rebel than traditional, more artistic mind than engineering mind, more idealist than cynical, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are religious (80%), intellectual (67%), romantic (57%).

Stereotypes
Young Professional94%
Prep69%
Old Geezer67%

Life Experience
Sex0%
Substances5%
Travel18%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Libertarian, whom you agree with around 95% of the time.
 Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Middle Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 42% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated G.
By the way, your hottness rank is 52%, hotter than 76% of other test takers.

So I was juggling back and forth between whether or not I'd take the day off for my birthday. But I'd be overcome with guilt if I spontaneously called in sick when I really wasn't.

Just my luck I DID end up calling in sick and taking the day off. I really did try to ward off that 24-hour stomach bug that has been picking off my siblings one by one. But today is my lucky day.

Yay! I can stay in bed all day and not go to work! LEGITIMATELY! Yes I do feel better. Not...100% better. But well enough to get out of bed and not have the room spin around me.

In other news..

bleeeeeeeeah...

Last night brought on computer instability galore and it was not fun. I couldn't even get Windows to run for 5 minutes without getting BSOD'd. But that's all better now.

At least I have internet now. But due to the HP-ness of my HP, I can't locate any of the stuff that once occupied the "My Documents" folder. It's not that it's all gone. It's still there all right. My programs do not use up 90 gig of space....that and I actually saw file names of the larger video files while doing a defrag.

It's more on an inconvenience than anything. Yeaj I'm annoyed but I don't have that gutted feeling I had whem my first laptop crashed. There was a lot of music...but I get most of my music from Pete anyway. There were the ripped DVD footage for AMV use...but those were from the DVDs I actually own. I didn't lose any AMV projects. I didn't lose my 2007 NaNo.. I still have the Alaska pictures on my camera...

There's still all the crap on the external hard drive....most of my music and the DVD footage from DVDs that I don't actually own...or partially own if it's Evangelion.

Did a search...turned on the hidden folders...found nothing. All the HP website had to say about it was that obtaining those files would be difficult. Meh...I e-mailed an inquiry to them anyway...couldn't hurt I guess. Hopefully by "difficult" they mean manually venturing deeper into the bowels of the system than usual, armed with more involved instructions.

EDIT: "Katie, I see that you have performed a standard recovery. I am sorry toinform you in this regard, if you perform non destructive recovery, you cannot get back the files saved in My Documents. If you perform destructive recovery, the hard drive will be formatted. There is no wayto get back the files that was saved in My Documents. So, before performing any recovery, it is recommended to back up the data that is required and then perform recovery."

...Okaaaay....thanks for quoting from your troubleshoot. I didn't select "advanced" to make myself feel good you know...

Like HELL I'll believe that. Your guide said it was DIFFICULT, which does not mean it's IMPOSSIBLE. Maybe it's impossible to retrieve with an HP that was kicked to factory settings alone. But the fact remains that about a third of my hard drive is being used up and I can't get to it. There must be SOME super secret way to get to it even if you have to use an additional tool.

EDIT EDIT: Found it...all of it... (eff you HP). Retrival plan to follow....sometime soon.

Three years undefeated.

So I CAN do this and juggle a full time job, Thanksgiving and marching band championship season.

I think next year I'll really good and challenge myself and write a Dares Novel.

Ha!

EEEEE!!!!!

Oh my God they brought back Teddy Ruxpin!?!?!?  I used to have one of the original Playskool cassete tape bears!  Not quite up there with Donald Duck as far as my childhood loves are concerned but I liked him enough to have TR bedsheets!  With a singing pillowcase!  I didn't even have Donald bedsheets.

Oh my gosh he looks just like the original with the same clothes (as opposed to the red shirt and blue jeans) and he still sounds like I remembered!!!!  ^_^

....Why do I feel like this isn't be news to me....that I've heard it before.

Oh well.  I'm going to squee anyway.  SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!

EDIT: What the....flying futhark it's 70 bucks at Target?! O_o

YEEEEEAH!  I finally got my diploma!    (stupid late shipping)

......

YEEEEEAH!  I can't tell you what it says 'cause it's all in LATIN!

As annoying as it is needing a translation packaged in there (and every year there's an article in the SHU paper griping about it), it's kinda cool though....in an "old school academia" way.....is your diploma written in a dead language?

Well at least my name is spelled right.  I can read that just fine.

Laid down the first 1000 words between coming home and going to bed.

This year is going to be difficult for time management...but here goes nothing.

You know I've never given the finger to anybody? Ever?

....Sometimes I wish I didn't worry so much about...ya know....being civil and showing some class. Because sometimes I'd love nothing more than to good and flip someone off.

Course...then I'd probably regret it having lost my flip-off...virginity or something. For once I'd like to be a HUGE UNCONTROLLABLE BITCH and cuss off the world because some people really piss me off..

Knowing you were the more mature person doesn't do much for instant gratification.

*goes to drown in yarn and Monty Python*
